Helpful boy

Now that it is clear Jonas understands much more than we realized, we have started asking him things to see what he does, or how he will react. So far I would have to say Jonas is paying a LOT more attention than we thought he was... a LOT. Here are some examples from the past 2 days:

-I gave Jonas a sheet of paper and asked him to take it to daddy in the other room. He took it carefully, held it in front of him, and marched straight to Brandon and handed it over. When Brandon finished with the paper, he gave it to Jonas and asked him to bring it to mommy, and he did!

-I licked my finger and rubbed some crap off of his nose... not that I wanted him to copy, but he immediately licked his finger and rubbed my nose.

-I asked him where his belly was and he patted his belly. I then asked him where his belly button was and he pulled his shirt up and pointed in his belly button.

-He can correctly wear sunglasses, and enjoys trying on different pairs.

-He "shushed" Brandon in the car this afternoon. Jonas was putting on some sunglasses, and Brandon said something to Jonas. As Brandon was talking, Jonas held a finger up to his mouth in the "shh" position, and said "mmmm--AA!" We're pretty sure he was trying to get brandon to hold on so he could finish what he was doing.

Also along the lines of understanding, Jonas got 2 spankings back to back today. We don't let Jonas play in Rudy's food ever, but he keeps trying to see if we will stop him... and we do. He went back to Rudy's food 3 times in a row, all 3 times I pulled him away to another room, told him "No, we don't play in Rudy's food!" and he would just run back in and do it again... so he got a slap on the back of his leg that he did not like. After a few seconds of outraged tears, he decided it would be a good idea to grab his toothbrush (Jonas loves his toothbrush, it is rarely in the holder as he loves to carry it with him everywhere) and swirl it in Rudy's food, even with "No, no's!" flying. He got smacked again. He didn't try it again. Poor baby.

  1. oh no... Grandma is putting the dog food away right now. He's been playing in it here... neatly taking it from the back of the feeder and putting it into the dish. Will stop now.

    Sorry bout that. Poor baby.
